The LFE team had a fantastic time at Barbury International Horse Trials last week.

Ellie Fredericks and Mandorior produced a good dressage test of 30.5 followed by a super-confident clear SJ and XC in the Open Novice to finish a brilliant 4th place behind some top riders, including Olympic riders Tim Price and Austin O'Connor. A super result!

A very big well done to Libby Seed and Zoe Taylor-Jones' Billy Alberto who finished on their dressage score of 27.3 to win their Novice section. It is very rewarding to see our training efforts with this partnership pay off.

Toby Pigott and In Fashion Too got off to a great start in the Novice with a dressage score of 26.5, followed by one pole SJ. In Fashion Too was understandably green at only her third Novice and had a couple of run-outs but finished confident and would have learnt a lot.

Last to go, Ellie Fredericks and Joubert were foot-perfect in the dressage and XC. They had three early casual poles in the very influential SJ course and still finished in the prizes in 6th place.

A wonderful day for the whole team!

We are so proud and excited to announce that Ellie and Mandorior have been selected to represent the South West team in the 2* event at the under 18 Championships at Frickley Park Horse Trials at the end of July. This is a well-deserved achievement for the pair who have worked so hard this season.

What a fantastic weekend at Nunney International Horse Trials! Belearo is such an amazing pony - together with Ellie Fredericks she performed a super test of 24, had one rider error SJ and then an effortless, foot-perfect XC easily within the time to finish in first place! She was so confident and clever - we love her!

It was great to see Toby Pigott and Britannia's Mail enjoy their first run together at Nunney International Horse Trials. They finished a very close 2nd behind Liz Halliday-Sharp in the Intermediate Novice, finishing on their dressage score of 26.

Joubert won the tough Open Novice u18 by 8 penalties after a super test and smooth double clear over an influential course. Ellie was definitely out to prove herself after her step off last week and it was great to have owner and breeder Bridget Hall there to see both Joubert and 5 year old Britannia's Cabaret compete. Head Girl Oceane Amans rode the lovely bay mare clear round their first BE100 and now go to Nunney 5 year old 100 class.

Ellie and Mandorior jumped yet another class confident double clear and only planned time faults XC put them down to 6th place.

A super day too for friends Kelly McCarthy-Maine and Phoebe Hughes who jumped 3 double clears between them.

Well done to the organisers - as usual, up to height SJ tracks and technical testing XC courses are always educational.
