We had a brilliant weekend at Dauntsey Park. Ellie had a fantastic result, finishing in 2nd and 5th place in her Novice sections on Mandorior and Joubert respectively, both finishing on their dressage scores. It was a fabulous XC course requiring boldness as well as accuracy and I am delighted with their performances in all three phases.

Well done to Oceane Amans and Little Britannia who had another good run getting to know each other and preparing for their first CIC*. Hen Gossage and Ordnance Hill had a good run, as did Oceane with Billy Alberto and Strip Teasel. Congratulations also to Ellie and Sunfield Elspeth who finished the weekend in 2nd place in their BE90 section.

I am thrilled that Ellie and her horses, Mandorior and Joubert, have qualified and been accepted to do their first CIC* event at Bicton in three weeks' time - very unnerving for me, but an amazing achievement!

Thank you to all our wonderful owners, sponsors and the fantastic team here at Rosegarth.

Our super stallion, Britannia's Mail (Marley), and rider Libby Seed enjoyed a fantastic day at Allerton Park Horse Trials on Sunday in their first Advanced competition together. Beginning with a great dressage of 30.5 they went on to have 2 unlucky rails down in the show jumping, but a wonderful clear round Cross Country to put them in 5th place at the end of the day. Well done Libby and Marley - it is fabulous to see this partnership go from strength to strength.

Ellie and Bridget Hall's 7 year old gelding Joubert won the National Schools Team final last week representing Dauntsey's school together with Amber Fletcher, Katinka Beckett and Lauren Dallison. They qualified last winter for the National Schools Championships and have been looking forward to their two nights sleepover in tee pee tents and lorries since!

Moley (Joubert) jumped three out of three clear rounds, Amber and Smokey four out of four clear rounds while Tinks (Connor) and Lauren (Blues) just rolled one pole each on the second day but it was all about day one.

Wednesday morning they needed three team members to jump clear and fairly quickly, which they did, so finished the morning qualifier in 3rd place. But then the slate was cleared and they needed a further three clears with much faster times and it was a nail-biting finish waiting for the last two riders to jump - and luckily both were slower leaving Dauntsey's as the champions! So exciting and thoroughly deserved!

Mums Ali, Sam and Izzy were brilliant grooms and cooks while Cinda managed to warm the girls up and do course walks. The team won beautiful rugs and plaques plus some training vouchers and had a brilliant lap of honour.

Thank you to owner Bridget Hall for letting Joubert represent Dauntsey's, and to Pure Feed, Devoucoux, Westgate, Freejump, HRP Equestrian and Foxy Equestrian for their support.

What a fabulous two weeks Ellie has had with her two super little horses. Moley (Joubert) and Shrimp (Mandorior) are now having a two week holiday and will be focusing on a few more events in September and October once the ground hopefully softens up.

I am delighted to finally be able to announce that Ellie & Mandorior have been selected for the South West team for the BE100 under 18 championships at Frickley Park International Horse Trials in two weeks' time. Ellie has worked incredibly hard all season and I am of course super-proud of her achievement! She has formed a wonderful partnership with Karen Smith's fabulous little horse Mandorior (Shrimp) and is very grateful to Karen for giving her the opportunity to produce and compete on him.

I also want to mention Bridget Hall's lovely Joubert (Moley) who will also be competing at Frickley with Ellie in the National Novice section. Moley and Shrimp have both come on in leaps and bounds since Ellie did the 90cm arena eventing a year ago and Moley was 3rd in a really tough novice section last week at Barbury. An amazing result. We look forward to a successful championships!
