5 out of 5 placings at Oxstalls!
It’s been a very busy weekend for the LFE team. Whilst I was away teaching in Ireland Ellie was taking part in a photoshoot for The Pure Feed Company, travelled to Merrist Wood for another PONY Mag demo, and then on to Oxstalls BE on Sunday where she was in charge of 5 horses!
The Pony Mag demo was a great success. Upsi Britannia was amazingly well behaved and it was the first time that Ellie had done a whole demo on her own. It sounds like she did a great job and the audience enjoyed watching her put Upsi through his paces!
Oxstalls was a successful event for our team of 5 horses. Ellie had her first run with Sally and Brook Johnson’s homebreds Olive (by Britannia’s Mail) and Scarlet (by Diorado). They both went double-clear and placed in the BE100 and will now be upgrading to Novice and cracking on with the rest of their season. They have been beautifully produced by Rebecca Howard and are now continuing their competition career with us. It’s lovely to have these two on the team – thank you Sally and Brook!
I am delighted for Working Pupils Drew and Liv. Ellie rode Liv’s horse Blue for 2nd place in the BE90 Open and Drew has worked very hard on her cheeky Diorado mare Tiki, so placing 7th was a very well-deserved result. Pupil Megan Pocock then had her first BE placing on her own Hanky Britannia (by Britannia’s Mail) in the BE90.
So, 5 out of 5 placings – a fantastic result and I’m absolutely thrilled for the girls.
Meanwhile, it was lovely for me to be back at Lauren Painter & Joanne Painter’s beautiful property Sleighdfuff Stud, Livery and Competition Centre, teaching new clients as well as my usual lovely ones. They are all so enthusiastic and friendly, and what a hard-working environment it is. Well done to Lauren also for her two wins on her outstanding young horses. I’m looking forward to my next visit already.
It’s a busy week now with BS at Tedworth for the two big ones before heading to Kelsall on Thursday.
