Four double-clears at Tweseldown

Upsi Britannia Wellington BSJ Apr 2024

Five lovely results for the team at Tweseldown Horse Trials definitely made the 3am start worth it!

Resident pupil Poppy and her horse Lulu had just one pole in the SJ, which was a great result for them in their last run before going 2*-L. Ellie Fredericks had her first run in the Novice with Sally and Brook Johnson’s two lovely homebreds, Scarlett and Olive, both of whom jumped beautiful double-clears with Olive finishing 7th. A little technical sat-nav problem from Ellie meant missing out on a top 10 place for Scarlett, but I am thrilled for both 6 year olds and we’re looking forward to cracking on with a busy rest of the season for them. They are both delightful and have been beautifully produced by Rebecca Howard. We are excited to have them on our team.

Twins Upsi Britannia (Upsi) and Upper Class Brit (Daisy) had easy double-clears, ridden by Ellie and Robin Klaver respectively, and are ready for Chatsworth 2* this week. Again, these two homebreds are unbelievably different in every way. We’re excited to see them run at their first big International this weekend.

Working pupil Drew & resident pupil Poppy were up early again on Sunday morning when Pip Acton was kind enough to take them up to Tweseldown. I am delighted that Drew came back with another super placing, finishing in the top 10, so just one more BE100 and then she will have her qualification to step up to Novice at West Wilts. Drew has worked really hard on her spicy little Diarado mare – in the space of three events they have gone from a 46 to a 31 in the Dressage. Well done Drew!

It’s a big weekend ahead with Upsi, Daisy and Pure Trendsetter (Trendy) heading to Chatsworth with Ellie and Robin, where they all step up a level, with Upsi and Daisy in the 2* and Trendy competing in her first 4* on Sunday.
