A win for Leo at Cirencester Park!
We had a fabulous outing to Cirencester Park at the weekend and were delighted with Legende P (Leo) & Ellie Fredericks Equestrian getting what they deserved – a win in the OIu21 in tricky conditions. The pair are still learning about each other, and Ellie is learning how to ride a very different horse to those she has ridden in the past. Their partnership is getting stronger all the time and it was great to watch Leo cruise round the XC effortlessly. He was definitely the star of the weekend!
From now until Bicton we will really be focussing on Leo’s dressage and some fitness work.
I am also delighted for yard manager Robin having a super run around the Novice on Upper Class Brit (Daisy). They are still getting to know each other and have one more run at Tweseldown before the 2* at Chatsworth.
Upsi Britannia (Upsi) as usual technically jumped a double clear, although seeing a bicycle appear behind the judges box in the SJ was just too much for his focus. He certainly keeps Ellie on her toes! I do find it incredible how our twins Upsi and Daisy (two embryos from one insemination) are so utterly different from one another!
Ellie and Lucy Thompson’s stallion Pennine View Silver Concorde (Connor) enjoyed their second Intermediate together. They got a bit stuck in the mud in the SJ but had a super test and a lovely clear XC. All credit goes to Lucy, Chris and the team at Pennine View Stud for keeping up the work on Connor during the week so he’s ready for Ellie at events.
I’m obviously gutted for Alec Lahore and his team at Cirencester Park Horse Trials 2024 that they had to cancel competition on Sunday. It was such bad luck. We felt very lucky to have had two super days there with the best ground.
Ellie returns from Uni at the end of this week and then it’s all guns blazing for Tweseldown, Chatsworth, Bicton and Millstreet.
