Second place at Thoresby
Stuart Buntine and his team at BEDE Events did a fabulous job producing what is sure to be one of the most popular events of the calendar – Thoresby Eventing Spring Carnival. It was well organised and a full team of helpers and volunteers resulted in an incredible weekend.
Considering the weather it is testament to the team that the arenas were all rideable. The Show Jumping courses in all classes were influential and the Cross Country was educational, tough enough and gave a brilliant experience to a lot of horses who will have learnt a lot.
A big thank you to Eco Voltz for servicing our bike whilst we were at Thoresby. Thanks also to Sophie & Charlie White for wonderful stabling and entertainment. And last but not least a mention to our two lovely horses Pure Trendsetter (Trendy) and Legende P (Leo).
Trendy was pretty immaculate with Ellie Fredericks all weekend, finishing 2nd in the u25 Advanced and 12th overall, without trying to go at any speed XC. I genuinely do love watching them go XC.
Leo was really top class although Ellie was angry with herself for a run-out on the XC course at the massively influential skinny after the step-up. The rest of the course he found easy – his first 3* with only two Intermediates at Tweseldown under his belt already. It’s going to be wonderful watching Ellie and Leo grow as a partnership this season.
Both horses pulled up beautifully, proving that the ground conditions were fair and safe.
With Portman being rained off we are really looking forward to getting some of the young horses out this weekend at Larkhill. And then the next stop for Trendy and Leo is Kelsall International.
