Solid Performances at Barbury!
Barbury Horse Trials is one close to our hearts (and our yard!) so we were thrilled to have such positive results over the four days.
First up was the Nexgen Young Horse Series where our last minute entry of Upsi Britannia proved a roaring success – despite having only been to one competition he whipped round, only touching one pole and he clearly loved every minute. With Lucinda being called up to judge last minute, he was later exempt from the competition but would have placed 4th and flown through to the championship.
Pure Britannia was equally nimble, going clear around the 5 year old class, finishing 5th and also making it through to the final at Hickstead!
Into the main bulk of the weekend and Pure Britannia stepped up to the plate again, scoring her best test yet with 29 in the Dressage, adding just 0.8 time in the tricky Cross Country course and finishing third overall! A very promising beginning to what looks to be a successful career for our Perdi.
Pure Trendsetter wasn’t one to be outdone – after a tricky Alnwick, the Showjumping still proved frightening but in the end there was a huge improvement in this area; the hard work continued with a 29.5 in the Dressage and a 1.2 added time for the Cross Country – impressive given the high temperatures. It was a top ten placing which we were all thrilled and incredibly proud of.
A huge thank you to all the support over the weekend – here’s to the next!
