ABOUT
Lucinda and her famous little mare Headley Britannia together won 3 of the world’s 6 CCI5* FEI events – Burghley 2006, Badminton 2007 and Kentucky 2009. Headley Britannia is the only mare to have ever won all three events, and also adds an Olympic team Silver medal (Beijing 2008) to her accolades. Lucinda’s competitive career highlights include wins at Punchestown, Blenheim, Osberton, Windsor and the CDI Grand Prix at Hickstead, as well as representing Australia at the London 2012 Olympics on Flying Finish.
Lucinda was coach to the Hong Kong Team, coaching them to win their first and only medal in Eventing at the 2014 Asian Games, and now regularly teaches riders on the Dutch team as well as a number of 4* riders in the UK.
Lucinda sadly had to retire from competition and jumping in 2017, having broken her knee in a riding accident. She now devotes her time to teaching at all levels, developing horses with her daughter Ellie and breeding from her stallions Britannia’s Mail and Britannia’s Bijou (son and grandson of Headley Britannia.) Lucinda can be seen out on the eventing circuit throughout the season with Ellie, who is a member of the British Eventing U21 Youth Development Squad, and her pupils. Ellie and Britannia’s Mail are an exciting combination to watch, having ended the 2021 season finishing 10th in their first Advanced event at Little Downham amongst all the professionals. Ellie and young horse Pure Trendsetter also had an astonishing season, ending with a win at Bicton in their first International 2*!
