A brilliant Barbury

What a perfect event to have in the calendar. It was great to be back at Barbury on superb ground with galloping courses which were great for fitness. It was an amazing event for sponsors, owners and trade stands as they can see the whole course across the wonderful turf. 

The event was beautifully organised by Musketeer Events with a friendly and efficient team of volunteers. 

On a personal note I was proud to have Ellie pilot Upper Class Brit (Daisy) round her first Intermediate into 3^rd place with a foot-perfect double-clear. Ellie and Daisy came back so confident they are now heading to their first 3* at Kelsall. 

Upsi Britannia did cause entertainment when Ellie missed her jerk at the influential Stonehenge combination, but thankfully having done an extra couple of miles around the Barbury estate he was caught and both he and Ellie came home safe and sound, and ready to go to Kelsall also. 

Working Pupils Mimi and Sophie both came home extremely happy with their runs, and our team of riders and horses can’t wait to get back to Barbury. We are really hopeful that the International will return or at least an Advanced.
