A STEP UP FOR UPPER CLASS BRIT AT KELSALL

Our second trip to Kelsall Hill was definitely worth the long drive. We were thoroughly spoilt, staying with Working Pupil Mimi Jones’ family just 20 minutes away, and the event was great. The facilities were fabulous and the courses were educational, flowing and gallopy with excellent ground conditions.
There was a bit of pressure on Ellie to redeem herself after her ‘miss’ at Barbury on Upsi Britannia, but she had two steady runs on both Upsi in the Intermediate and his twin sister Upper Class Brit (Daisy) in the 3*. I am really thrilled with both horses. It was a huge step up for Daisy, having only done one Intermediate. She was in 7th place after a super test and really tried in the SJ. And Upsi proved that he is finally growing up, with a lovely dressage test. It’s not an easy job for Ellie to go from one to the other as they really couldn’t be more different in every way!
We are very excited for Upper Class Brit to be going to Osberton next for her second 3* and Upsi Britannia goes to Cirencester Park.
Working Pupil Mimi Jones had another 3* clear under her belt with her own Winnie de Fontenel, with all three phases much improved. I am absolutely delighted for her.
Thank you to the organisers at Kelsall for a fantastic event. And thank you to our super team of sponsors and supporters.
