Dauntsey’s School Show
What a brilliant day we had at the Dauntsey’s School Show at West Wilts Equestrian Centre yesterday. It was immaculately run – efficient, organised and on time, thanks to the parents and children helping – and lovely prizes.
Pupil Serena did fantastically well on my homebred 4 year old, Pure Britannia (Purdie). It was Purdie’s first experience at an indoor competition and no one could believe how beautifully behaved she was! Serena’s own horse wasn’t ready to compete so I leant her Purdie, and considering Serena had only had two rides on her previously we were thrilled with how well they got on.
I am delighted for pupil Sophie Flann who had good, confident rounds on the lovely Hebe, and Ellie Fredericks Equestrian and Pure Trendsetter jumped two impeccable, fast clears to finish 3rd and 4th in her classes, helping the team win the 100 and qualify for Hickstead.
Britannia’s Mail (Marley) came out in typical Marley fashion – from the lorry to a 10 minute warm up and straight in to win the 1.10m with Ellie, having only jumped once since his Advanced run at Little Downham. It just proves his true professional attitude to life!
A big thank you to everyone involved in helping the event run so smoothly!
